CHAS NOTE:
In Jan/Feb 2004, I began posting several RHABDOMYOLYSIS articles because of my growing recognition of the frequent occurrence of rhabdomyolysis being caused during restraint asphyxia incidents. This article provides an in-depth explanation (mostly in English, thank you!) of what rhabdomyolysis IS, and the variety of things that can cause it. Although it doesn't specifically address restraint asphyxia's association with rhabdomyolysis, it assists a CLEAR understanding of how the extreme exertional states preceding restraint asphyxia deaths CAN cause rhabdomyolysis.

I've posted this Am Fam Physician article in PDF file format.
