When this webpage was first posted (June 11, 2002), I only included scans of pages from this chapter that offered
information relative to investigation of "Restraint Asphyxia" cases (pages 229-244), and scans of the pages
identifying all the references cited within this chapter (pages 275-277).
On June 30, 2008, I added two more scanned pages from Forensic Pathology 2e, Chapter 8, to this webpage
(pages 273-274) – pages containing restraint-asphyxia-related information I’d previously missed, regarding
“Crucifixion” and “Deaths from Choke or Carotid Holds” information.
The images on this WEBPAGE do not include the PHOTOS found on those
scanned pages. Many of those photos are “disturbing” (especially if viewed by
Family Members of Restraint Asphyxia victims), and none of them are
required to understand the text.Additionally, the page scans posted on this webpage contain yellow highlighting. I apologize for that!
It wasn’t until after I had read the chapter (highlighting as I read), that I realized how very important
this information is to others seeking to investigate Restraint Asphyxia cases.
Happily, on June 30, 2008, I created and posted a PDF file of all the RELATIVE
Forensic Pathology 2e (2001), Chapter 8; ASPHYXIA pages!
